SAC CX #2 Oct 11, 2011 Categories: MASH Frames 0 Comment Saturday Morning we loaded up early and headed to Sacramento for Sac CX #2. The team is organized, and working really well together. We were missing Chas, Garrett, Gabe, and Walton, so looking forward to seeing the group grow, and continue to work together this season. Blake has the full kit for the racing season, and knows how to think ahead as a group. The BBQ is an important tool in this. Daniel needs to find a better gluten free solution though. MadCat is a big support for this series. Back section. Flat out, flat back. Long sleeves were too hot this early in the season, so these guys took liberties. Rainier leading out the pack. He raced such a smart race, but was taken out by a crash on the last lap. He still managed to put it back together, and place 5th in the A’s. Stay away from these. Cool down between SS and A’s Blake coming out of the wiggle, heading into the single track. This is how you get things done. Rainier in the Elite Men A’s Dylan running in the SSCX group. Under-geared for sure. “Look at that guy spin”. Will bring you a 46t for the next Sac race! Laps to go Blake coming over the barriers in the Single Speed group. He has been cursed with mechanicals, and hoping they are all out of his system for the season. Lead group, mid-race. Daniel trying to make more out of this incredibly flat course. This was Daniels first CX race of the season, and he won the Singles category by a healthy gap. The following day he won in the Single Speed group again at CCCX #3. The fog belt met us on our way back into the city, and it was a reminder just how fun these day trips can be. Prunedale is back next weekend. See you out!
