Milano, Italia – October 2nd, 2013 – Trimble Racing is proud to announce the Red Hook Criterium Milano No. 4, presented by Rockstar Games, on Saturday, October 12th, 2013. The race will be held in the Bovisa area of Milano, Italy. Qualifying heats start at 17:00 with the final criterium at 21:00. The race is free for spectators. See more below! The Red Hook Criterium and Rockstar Games welcome local producer Officine Sfera, technical partner Ciclistica and new sponsors Oakley, Ass Savers, Birra Plurale, Deus Ex Machina, and Ferri Veloci along with continued support from Cinelli, Castelli Cycling, Giro Sport Design, hatchMAP, Selle San Marco, Iridefixed Modena, and Fifo Cycle. For the second year the race will benefit from an official partnership with the Comune di Milano. The Red Hook Criterium features world-class road racers, track specialists, bike messengers and urban cyclists competing over multiple laps around a short technical circuit. Fixed-gear track bikes are mandatory, requiring riders to possess street-tuned handling skills and high levels of fitness. With the first rounds held in Red Hook Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and Barcelona, Spain the crit now moves to Milano, Italy as the fourth and final round of the Red Hook Criterium Championship Series. This edition will feature two hundred competitors from fifteen countries attempting to qualify for eighty-five race spots. After three races the championship points standings are tight with Neil Bezdek (Team Cinell Milano) holding a twenty-three point lead over Kyle Murphy (Mash SF) with last year’s Milano winner Evan Murphy (Stanridge x DSC) a further three points behind. Stefan Vis (WIT Industries / F.A.S.T Amsterdam), Rainier Schaefer (Mash SF), Walton Brush (Mash SF), Marc Marino (LOW // Cadence), and Cooper Ray (ROSKO / King Kog) remain in close contention for a top three finish in the final standings. The top Italian Francesco Martucci (Iridefixed Modena) is ninth overall and eager to prove himself on home roads.
