our friend Jeff Nebolini, like many of us, produces artistically. Like many independent spirited sports, artists have always been drawn to these circles of like-minded individuals. The bicycle has brought many friends through my door, and I have it to thank.

For me, a big part of riding in SF is climbing up into fog on twin peaks. because i live up there, i’m always faced with riding up the hill, and I always seem to be staring up at sutro tower which is just peeking out of the fog, or backlit and silhouetted, with ravens flying around the eucalyptus forest. the polka dots symbolize the fog, and also the polka dot jersey, which in cycling is awarded to the “king of the mountains” — the rider who scores the most points on the mountain stages of a grand tour. The excerpt in the poster reads:

But the wind comes up at four o’clock — sweeping the hills —

and then the veil of light of early evening — and then another scrim —

when the new night fog — floats in —
