SOIL SALOON BENEFIT FOR CHUEY Nov 27, 2012 Categories: MASH Frames, News Last Sunday a large group met in Golden Gate Park to race bikes and support a good friend. Soil Saloon keeps a low profile, but clearly has a huge following. Together organizers and friends hosted a benefit race to help Chuey. Enclosed are some moments from the event. Chuey for Soil Saloon Chas raced on his BMW fixed. With 100 racers, The organizers did a good thing for Chuey, and continue to keep cross fun in the Bay Area. Chas took the whole shot. Blake getting support over the tree barrier. Best Dressed This was DJ’s first CX race, and he got right into the swing of things. You have to remember the racers have challenges at each checkpoint. Traditionally alcohol represents one of these tasks. By the 6th lap, things get pretty loose, including the soil. Blake splitting shrubs. B.A.S.P #2 SIERRA POINT 2011 Nov 14, 2011 Categories: Cyclocross 0 Comment Yesterday we all met at Sierra Point for the second Bay Area Super Prestige race of the season. With some rain the day before, the coarse was in great shape for a long day of racing. Enclosed are some images from along the way! All the pre-season effort with the sponsors, and organization is all worth it when all the racers at at the start, and ready to kill. Chas has had a really strong race season. This night will be no different. Thanks to Incase for the new headphones! Bolt on Thanks to Tom Simpson for setting it all up! Rainier is calm before the storm. Single Speed A’s… GO! Chas on the up. Daniel has a cold, so he took the weekend off to rest up for next weekends blowout, the SINGLE SPEED CYCLOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011 SAN FRANCISCO! Blake coming back through the over-under. Smiling all the way down. Blake knows how to prep for these events. Rainier even brought chanterelle mushrooms he foraged this past week. Alex entertained the group with crash footage from moments earlier. Jackie somehow finished with his tube wrapping his canti. At least he still has all his spokes. With a few hours between races, the team was able to digest, swap stories, then warm up for the Geared A’s night race! Rainier wathing the B’s last lap before lining up in the A’s. Gabe got taken out by another racer in the Master A’s, but worked his way back in the mix before the finish. With some rain the day before, it was a perfect night for racing. Not too muddy, but plenty fast. With the firing of the canon, they were off, and the field was deep. Rainier and Chas raced single speeds in the geared A’s. Up and down Chas following the white line. What was once an empty field by the airport, now a playground. Derek raced a strong race, finishing top 10. Will update with results when they are fully posted. Rainier had mechanicals, and fought to stay up. We will be dialing bikes this week. IT IS A MUST. Come train Tuesday AM in Golden Gate park tomorrow AM. Meet at the shop at 7:30am for Coffee, and head out at 8am! MM
