MASH SAN FRANCISCO PREMIERE EVENT RECAP Oct 12, 2015 Categories: alleycat, MASH, MASH Frames, News, Photo 0 Comment When we started the 10 year project, it was tuff to see the light at the end of the tunnel, being it was by far the biggest project I have worked on in my adult career. I sat with Garrett and planned a ruff map of components including a large photo/design book showing the history of MASH, a full length new movie that shows where the level of riding has progressed to, street racing, where we come from, and where our passion still lives today, and space to show these photographs, design projects, and art from our friends over the years. Once we had this on paper, we dove into organizing 10 years of photographs, and design projects, and with Dylan’s help, we shaped up the 355 page book. The video was always being shot in the background, with no real deadline, or end goal beyond keep shooting. By creating a calendar to share all of these ideas, a premiere in San Francisco would be our first stop on what would become a world tour. On September 12th 2015, we shared with the locals, and travelers alike, what we love. Track bikes and their riders using the streets and roads of the Bay Area, to express their interconnection of these elements. This series of photographs show some details from that weekend in San Francisco. We are grateful to all of our friends who tirelessly helped us prepare, who hung artwork in the middle of the night, who worked checkpoints at races, or lost their voices screaming at a video projection, and who woke up the next morning to sweat out the previous nights celebration. We want to thank sponsors that contributed by supporting these riders with the hardware needed to make this video/book possible, and the added legs to travel it around the world. THANK YOU.

ON THE ROAD Sep 27, 2015 Categories: alleycat, MASH, News, Photo 0 Comment We are currently on the road, and are so inspired by the support from the global bike community. As a photographer, it has been a challenge to take the back seat at these events, needing to wear the producer cap over the camera operator. If you have been to any of the shows, and have nice images to share, please email us a link. Tomorrow we head to Paris for a quick alleycat/group ride to the screening at Wanderlust., then to Berlin for another street race, and screening. Hoping to see you along the journey!

MASH CINELLI 10 YEAR PARALLAX FRAME SET Sep 12, 2015 Categories: Cinelli, MASH, STORE 0 Comment Today we are celebrating 10 years of working on the MASH project. To commemorate our creative relationship with Cinelli, we have taken the race tested geometry of our Parallax frame set, and asked Garrett Chow to bring his best work to the table. The result is very special to us. “All designs of MASH Ten Year Anniversary products are based on ‘X’, the Roman numeral for Ten: ‘X’ is comprised of the intersection of two lines or, can be seen as two angles in tangency. This rationale serves as the basis of the vanishing point(s) in linear perspective —the means for representing three-dimensional objects and space on a two-dimensional surface. The design elements and visual language of all #MASHtenyear products–from premiere flyer to the frameset you see here–are derived from plotting equidistant points along the periphery of the MASH logotype, and then tracing these points back to a vanishing point. Scaling the ‘wireframe’ derived from this exercise, and varying the distance of the vanishing point and placement of the logotype above and below the horizon line yields myriad permutations of this visual language.” GC This frame set, in this 10 year color, is limited to 100 total pieces. The frames are only available for PRE-ORDER through our site, and physical shop in San Francisco California. Garrett will hand scribe each frame in the order we received the pre-order. The first order we receive will be frame number 1, and the last will be frame number 100. These are expected to land in California in November 2015. About 60 days from today. Order HERE. There will be no cancellations available for this pre-order. Please purchase with confidence.
